The Dearborn County Historical Society is the proud steward of the Angevine Cabin, ca 1820, located at 461 West High Street, Lawrenceburg, IN. As with any historic building, the Angevine Cabin requires ongoing restoration work. Our focus for this project includes Logs, Chinking, Porch and Roof repairs including:
  • the wood shake roof
  • both upper level and lower level porch floor boards
  • damaged beams under porch
  • upper and lower porch rails
  • damaged fascia boards
  • all gutters
  • Strip the exterior logs to remove the old finish
  • Borate the home to prevent greying under the stain and wood eating insects
  • Apply two coats of Perma-Chink Exterior stain for long term protection
  • Apply one coat of Perma-Chink Clear Coat for ease of maintenance
  • Remove all of the Exterior Chinking between the logs
  • Apply Perma-Chink between the logs to eliminate heat loss and air infiltration.
Estimated total restoration work is approximately $75,000.
All donors will be recognized at our yearly Members meeting, May 2019.
Donations are tax deductible according to current state and local income tax regulations. Thank you for helping us keep history alive in Dearborn County.
